The new Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake has been spotted testing. The
CLS estate was confirmed by Auto Express late last year, and it features
the same stylish lines as the saloon, but with an added dose of
practicality.
The CLS Shooting Brake is expected to use the same engine line-up
as the CLS saloon, which starts with a 201bhp 2.1-litre four-cylinder
twin-turbo diesel, and is topped off by the 518bhp 5.5-litre twin-turbo
V8-powered CLS 63 AMG. These will be matched to Mercedes seven-speed
Geartronic transmission.
The interior will be the same as the four-seater’s, with the
additional luggage area expected to offer slightly less than the E-Class
Estate’s maximum of 1,950 litres, due to the Shooting Brake’s swooping
rear roofline.
The CLS Shooting Brake is expected to cost around £1,500 more than
the saloon, with prices starting at £48,000 when it arrives in showrooms
next year.
